Literature Text

Sometimes it seems
I have no face
I'm not judged for who I am
But what I am

The big yellow star
Plastered on my coat
Unable to be removed
That is my face now.

They see the star
Gossip and whisper amongst themselves
I hear names
So many names
So derogatory
It hurts

I have no name
I have no face
The star is who I am now
Because of that man

That evil, evil man
With the odd mustache and comb-over
Screaming hateful names
Inserting them into others minds
But why, why?
What have I done?
I am an innocent person
Wrongly abused

What am I?
What have I done?
I know exactly:
I am a Jew.
This poem is about the Holocaust and persecution against the Jews during World War II. It was written for my digital portfolio in English class, so yeah. You should probably expect more literature deviations from me, as you know I can't draw. :P
